Part-time Intake Coordinator
Summary
Wildflower Center for Emotional Health is a respected and well-established mental health practice in River North/Chicago and Oak Park. Treatment at Wildflower is grounded in empirically-based modalities and theories as well as commitment to ongoing learning and clinical collaboration to provide the highest quality of attuned, empathic care. We serve individuals, couples, and families, and focus our practice on these key areas: reproductive and perinatal mental health, mood and anxiety, trauma, sexuality and relationships. The position of part-time intake coordinator is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to develop a deeper understanding of the mental health field, is self-directed, passionate about ongoing learning, and has excellent communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications/Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree required; students working towards a graduate degree highly encouraged to apply (particularly those looking to enter the fields of clinical psychology, social work, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively, compassionately, and professionally with clients and referral community
- Superior time management and multitasking abilities, comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment with shifting needs and priorities
- Positive, friendly, upbeat attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and work autonomously to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience working in a medical setting and/or in administrative or customer service capacity preferred
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as email and internet research savvy;
- Trauma-informed, sex-positive, anti-oppressive stance; commitment to antiracism and cultural humility
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Under supervision of intake manager, handle intake phone calls and messages and manage all aspects of scheduling and referral process.
- Maintain accurate and clear records related to intake operations.
- Participate in communication, strategic planning, and policy development with other team members and management.
- Provide support with photocopying, faxing, mailings, and other administrative tasks. Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, and reports using appropriate software and tools.
- Respond timely to clients’ requests for service and in accordance with Wildflower policies.
- Engage in limited outreach activities to further the effectiveness of intake operations and ensure prospective clients receive needed referrals and care in the community; engage in targeted research and follow up.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and mandatory training as directed by Wildflower and demonstrate an interest in continued education.
- Support various clinical initiatives, including group psychotherapy, workshops and community events.
- Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
- Other duties as may be assigned or required for the position.
Hours
Part-time position requiring 20 hours per week during the day, Monday to Friday. Schedule will be subject to change depending on Wildflower needs. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
Salary
$20-$30 per hour.
Other
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Wildflower operations are conducted remotely at this time. In-person services will resume in the future. This position will be based in our River North office.
We require that all Wildflower employees provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19 before their start date.
