Underwriting Assistant

Underwriting Assistant duties:
  • Provide best-in-class service and response times to our select agency partners
  • Monitoring various reports for consistency
  • Data Entry into multiple internet-based systems
  • Make, and follow-through with, request for missing information from outside sources
  • Use Microsoft Office software, (e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations as assigned
  • Rating and preparation of new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
  • Review and handling of inspection recommendations and discrepancies
  • Process bind requests as directed by Underwriter
  • Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits
  • Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
  • Reviewing submissions information required to issue new or renewal quotes
  • Review renewal applications to confirm that information is appropriate to proceed in underwriting actions
  • Receive referral approval from Senior Underwriting on all accounts when required
  • Complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control review on all bind orders
Underwriting Assistant requirements:
  • Utilize time management abilities in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multitask while prioritizing important and pressing tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an innate capacity for organization
  • Drive to succeed and advance your knowledge and career
  • Ability to work in a customer service and driven environment
  • Ability to resolve moderately complex problems
  • Willingness and ability to go above and beyond to help and provide value to team
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations
  • Ability to apply feedback in order to improve performance
